Instituation & Past Achievements

Institution

In collaboration with Taumako Indigenous Knowledge Institution AKA TIKI, our goals are to build authentic voyaging canoes call Tepuke, Tealolili, Vaka Lua, Alo Uwa Uwa and voyage them using ancient navigational techniques, restore and sail the old trading routes, train the youths in traditional voyaging techniques, document the process of construction and navigation, produce educational materials, cultural exchanges,  protect the intellectual property and copy rights of Taumako, promote Taumako Indigenous knowledge and traditional practices and reinvent our traditional voyaging canoes to provide sustainable transportation to the community.

To succeed with our voyaging programs we need to create partnership with the people of Veakau Islands, Vanikoro, Utupua, Santa Cruz, Reef Island, Tikopia, Anuta TORBA Province of Vanuatu and other islands in the Solomon Islands and the Pacific. We have accomplished some partnership through the Heihei Lavoi program in 2021. We welcome international and regional students to Taumako who wish to learn ancient navigation and the old ways of living. Please feel free to contact us and watch this page about our programs and events.
